The southern part of the Costa Blanca and the northern part of the Costa Calida is a small paradise of
mild temperatures. The hilly hinterland protects this area against the wind of the Meseta, which
makes the temperature for the entire year very pleasant: in winter it's usually 16 - 22 °C; whilst in
summer it doesn't get too warm with the temperature about 30 °C.
With around 320 days of sunshine a year, it's a great place for golf ...
In 2004, the World Health Organisation voted it 'The Healthiest Place To Live In The World'.
The high number of hours of sun per year, and the high salinity of the water, creates clays with incredible therapeutic qualities which has been backed by recent studies at the University of Murcia. The north of the lagoon is well known as the best area to have a mud bath!
In short, the Costa Calida has the best and healthiest climate of Europe.
